Monarchs and tomatoes

Looking out the backyard window I am seeing a lot of Monach butterflies. It’s that time of year again. I should be pulling up the old tomato and cucumber plants…. But it’s hard when they are still blooming. So, I will wait a few more weeks to give the late bloomers a chance to produce.

Fresh new beginnings

New beginnings are always hard, nerve-racking, and totally stressful! Today I took steps (Really, really big steps) towards a fresh new beginning. I'm cleaning up my life as well...Physically and mentally. This is going to be a wild ride!

Hey, sting has sprung !

A walk through any farm and ranch store and you will notice that spring is here. There are baby rabbits, chickens and ducks.

One of the reasons I like spring? Being outside and gardening, one of my passions. I love to take seeds, plant them, and then 60 days later be able to eat, literally, the fruits of my labor. So far I have 10 tomato plants, eight broccoli, 6 peppers, along with, peas, bush beans, onions, garlic, and cucumbers. I'll be posting garden photos soon. Enjoy the spring weather!

A Cooper's hawks lunch

Talk about something cool to see...as I was driving home I happened upon this sight. A Cooper's hawk was eating a pigeon. It was amazing! I spent a few minutes taking photos with both my phone and my camera. As I was leaving someone else was pulling up to watch the show. Amazing!
