Tile my world!
Here is a card sample made using a DP Artwork rubber stamp. The name of the stamp is Tile duo (EL 34 G). One side of the stamp has 1 big tile ( featured on the black background). The second side is the same tile smaller and with 4 to make one side. I love this stamp and this sample! This was made by our friend of friend Vicki (she's got skills!) Thank you Vicki for this sample!

What a great sample from Vicki B. She used two of our (DP Artworks) stamps. The two stamps are; Full run (AW 20 F) and Fast horse (QP 14 E). It is a really great looking sample!

London fog
Okay, so I found a thumb drive and checked to see what was on it and it was card samples. So I believe the samples were all made by Vicki Bridges. She is a very talented local artist. There are several DP Artworks stamps used including; The Thames (WI 44F), Rose window (WI 52 F), Ornate shell border (EL 24 G), Ornate carved round (TR 22 G), Prodigal son (NA 22 F) Cross background (EL 17 H), and Manor gate (PM 32 E). I love the tile effect she got on this. Between the tiles is embossing. It is a lovely blue sample!

Mona altered book part 2
The stamp above is the Duomo in Florence Italy.
I love Florence Italy!
The featured on this page is Palazzo Vecchio.
Most of this art I have seen...but nothing beats David!
I made a book, that are actual pages I reduced.
The Birth of Venus is copied on acetate.
There is a light behind it that you can twist to turn on.
It illuminates and the true art shines.

Gathering altered books
Here is a Secret Garden altered book I did.
The photos are random shots of the book...no real order.
The niche is filled with paper flowers.
The gnomes in the tree swing.
It is so much fun to make altered books.

Happy New Year!
Well it is a new year, new goals, new plans for DP Artworks. I am excited
about what the New Year will bring. This past year was an extremely busy one.
We have a new catalog in the works, as well as new images and fresh samples. So
keep checking back here to be the first to see what's new for 2013.

A Lesser Yellowlegs
Here is a Lesser Yellowleg.
Now for something completely different:
We are working on new rubber stamp samples and should be posting them soon. Our new catalog will be finished early spring. Stores will get our fresh catalog in March/early April. We have a few new tricks up our sleeves...we have been thinking outside the box. We, of course, welcome samples at any time. Monica sent us some great Valentine cards that we will post starting next month. Thank you to everyone for your support this year! You all rock!

Catch and release
The name of this stamp is Catch and release. I added color using both Primsacolor pens and watercolor pencils. Glitter was added for highlights. The ribbon is a jute ribbon. I really like this image. It was one of our first images (in our very first catalog).

A hard day's work
This is a stamp featuring the amazing Rosa Parks.
It has two quotes from her.
I am such a fan of water color pencils, and used them on this sample. This was a really easy card to make.

In the park
I love this new image; we called it In the park. This is an oversize card like the previous cards have been.
I used prismacolor markers. The prismacolor markers are like Copic markers.
They give a nice translucent color that can be layered to add shading. I think
I will ask for these for Christmas and build up my collection.

Mt Fuji rubber stamp
Here is a DP Artworks rubber stamp that features Mt Fuji.
Mt Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. At 12,389 ft it can be seen in Tokyo some 62 miles away. It is one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains" along with Mount Haku and Mount Tate. Mt Fuji is an stratovolcano that last erupted in 1707-'08. The volcano is currently classified as active with a low risk of eruption.

Ohio gold
Alrighty, the stamp I used for this sample is called Ohio gold. This stamp was made from a photo that I took in Toledo, Ohio. My sister and I went to a farmers market one fall day. It was a lot of fun. I was able to get some awesome photos that I have since used in art work.

Wine time
Here are two of our newest images. This is Wine girl and
Time echo. I used water color pencils to add the color. The ribbon is silk. I
love using silk ribbon, it takes color well. This is an oversize card.

Fish is fish
Here is another sample I made. The stamps I used are Fishline and Sushi. This was a easy card to make. I stamped the fish on a piece of card stock and added color. After cutting the fish out I glued them onto the background. I then stamped the sushi quote, layered in on black, and glued it down.
Tah dahhhh.
Done.
Easy, quick, and fun!

Out of Africa with DP Artworks rubber stamps
Here is a card from Erma Jean C. from the Chicago area. This
is our first card from her. This is one of our newer stamps. The stamp is
called Parade (WI 101H). She picked this up at Stampaway this year. It was
awesome meeting her. The colors under the giraffes are copic markers. For the
pattern in the background, the triangles are the corner of an ink pad. The
circles were made using a pen lid. I am not sure what ink she used but it looks
a bit like Colorbox Chalks pads. I am so happy Erma Jean sent us this card. Thanks again Erma Jean.

Boys will be boys....cute children rubber stamps
This card was made by Bridgette Yond. She has two adorable girls, and made this for a friend of hers. The DP Artworks stamps she used are; Spencer (MO 40 E), Patrick (MO 46 E), Pup (MO 09 B), and Puppy play (MO 52 C). She used Prismacolor pens to add the color. It is a very cute card.
I was received an e mail yesterday asking how I name the stamps. Sometimes it is easy to name the stamps...and other times it is difficult. The little boy in the green shirt is named Spencer after a student I taught a million years ago. I also have one named after his brother and sister, Alex and Clair. I taught both boys. Their parents were amazing as well. So now you know a little more about how I name the stamps.
The little girl on yesterday’s card is named after my sister-in-law Dion. I will try to start letting you know a little more about the stamps. Thanks for checking out my blog.

Friends forever rubber stamp sample
Here is a sample from our very own Tressa. She used two stamps; Dion (MO 17 E) and Toy duo (MO 18 C). She used color pencils to add a bit of color. This ATC was stamped with Black Memories ink pad. The background is ColorBox Chalks Amber Clay and Burnt Sienna. All the DP Artworks rubber stamps of children have been very popular. Tomorrow's sample features some other of our children stamps.

The Big Apple sample
Along with the cute little inchie tags that Bridgette sent (posted yesterday) this card came as well. The stamp she used is Apple (TR 33 F). She stamped it using a Burnt Sienna Chalk pad. She added the color using water soluble colored pencils. I like the subtle colors of the red white and blue color families she used. We love this card!
Someone e-mailed me and asked what we do with all the awesome samples. Good question...We use them at shows, of course on our blog, tip-ins for our catalogs, and color copies are sometimes sent to stores to use as samples to spark creativity. Thanks for all the samples and e-mails.

Wee stamped tags
Bridgette Yond made these cute little tags. This little image was a free stamp we handed out at Stampaway this past summer. We passed out only 50 of them. We are going to have this in our new catalog that we are working on....It is a BIG, HUGE job! The name of this stamp is called My turn (wee). (no assigned number yet)
The next stamp she used was Faces duo (EL 55 D). This is a double sided stamp. I love this stamp. It reminds me of the faces on the bridges in Paris.
Here is another image that was a freebie at Stampaway this past year. The name of it is Ironworks round (wee) (no assigned number yet). As you can see all these stamps are perfect for inchies and small areas. Bridgette dyed her ribbons to match the colors she used. She used ink pads to customize the ribbon. Brilliant! Thank you Bridgette!
